Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to assist in assessing IA requirements and IA impacts for application. Assist with the assessment of continuity and contingency plans.
  • Assist in the review of documentation, submissions, and procedures for security and IA issues. Familiar with Plan of Action and Milestones (PO&AM) DODI 8500-2 and AR 25-2 controls.
  • Identifies, reports, and resolves security violations.
  • Ability to read and understand STIG and IAVA bulletins and take proper action on the effected systems.
  • Act as System Administrator on the UDEVNET, install software and hardware as required.
  • Write CCB requests if requested.
  • The candidate must have the ability to provide IA technical insight and regulatory guidance. He or she must plan, coordinate, and implement the information security approach across the program to ensure compliance with all Federal and agency security and privacy guidelines; be able to identify security challenges and roadblocks to propose solutions.
  • Performing hardware and software maintenance and tuning to maintain optimum system performance.
  • Perform installs, upgrades, moves, and changes for computer workstation hardware and software.
  • Maintains inventory, problem tracking, and resolution databases.
  • Work closely with Information Assurance Team and other IT groups to perform root cause analysis and develop permanent solutions to resolve and prevent recurring issues.
  • Ensure all 2875 request meet the requisite favorable security investigation, clearances, authorization, need-to-know, and security responsibilities before granting access to the UDevnet network.
  • Ensure security log files and audits are maintained for all UDevnet systems to ensure DoD compliances.
  • Preform quarterly STIG/SCAP Scans on all UDevnet assets and mitigate all CAT I findings before submission.
  • Participate in all Cyber Security related meetings and taskers.
  • Quarterly review and audit all UDevnet accounts and security groups.
  • Enforce all DoD IA Policy, guidance and regulations.
  • Ensure implementation and mitigation of IAVM dissemination, reporting, and compliance procedures.
  • Routinely review hardware/software list and network topology to stay incompliance with Risk Management.
  • Ensure all assets within area of responsibility are certified, accredited and reaccredited.
  • Manage UDevnet connectivity of all assets.
  • Oversee the daily performance of computer system.
  • Provide Information Assurance support for Mission Equipment Support Branch on the stand-alone development information systems and verifying all used software has a certificate of net worthiness, and assistance with Security Technical Implementation Guides.
  • Support all efforts and taskings with regard to accreditation of the Mission Equipment Support Lab.
  • Research, evaluate, and provide feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements.

 

* Minimum Qualifications/Requirements/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree – Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related scientific or technical discipline. Four years of related experience may be substituted for education.
  • 1-3 years of direct relevant Information Assurance experience.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800 series, System Security Plan (SSP), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), or Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A)
  • Ability to read and understand STIG and IAVA bulletins and take proper action on the effected systems.
  • Act as System Administrator on the UDEVNET, install software and hardware as required.
  • Write CCB requests if requested.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification or equivalent to comply with IAT level 2 per DoD Directive 8570.01.
  • US Citizenship and a current Secret Clearance or having held one during the last two years. (History of higher clearance a plus)
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.

 

 

Preferred Qualification/Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to include deployment of and maintenance of.
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+, and MCSA/MCSE, ISC2 CISSP.
  • Experience with US Army Avionics software maintenance and in the design, development, upgrade, field support, and maintenance of a wide variety of US Army Avionics equipment and systems.
