Envision is seeking an experienced Component/Parts Researcher/Supply Chain Analyst to perform a variety of assignments supporting the Team C4ISR Diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS)/Obsolescence focus area. Typically this would include research of designated systems/components/parts to facilitate identification and analysis of sustainment and supply chain issues associated with complex C4ISR platforms and associated support systems. Will generate and report obsolescence metrics of various types of components using military technical documentation, source control drawings, datasheets, specifications, other data sources etc. Works closely with engineering staff to seek, locate and distribute information regarding mechanical/electromechanical components via commercial and DoD parts research databases. Aides/assists in solving DMSMS issues via contractual, technical or alternative sourcing methods.

 

Ancillary duties will also include maintaining administrative knowledge-sharing applications, providing status on current alerts, and elevating significant activities on a regular, reoccurring basis. Other tasks/duties may be assigned to support the overall DMSMS/Obsolescence focus area.

 

Required Education:

  • ABET Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Associate's Degree in an electronics technology field of study with 2 years related experience or High School Diploma or GED with 4 years related experience in electronics troubleshooting, testing, manufacturing, and/or assembly.
  • Required Skills:
  • A strong understanding of electrical/electronic component functions, applications, assembly, packaging, and testing is required.
  • Has a working knowledge and fundamental understanding of lifecycle management principles and logistics surrounding the sustainment and fielding of military communications and electronic systems.
  • Candidate should have a strong understanding of electrical/electronic component functions, applications, assembly, packaging, and testing, and related terminology, as well as a basic understanding of other component types (mechanical, electro-mechanical, COTS).
  • Candidate should have experience with reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and datasheets.
  • Position requires strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the ability to learn custom databases/software-search solutions.
  • Position requires strong oral/written communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • US Citizenship and a current Secret Clearance or having held one during the last two years. (History of higher clearance a plus)

Additional Preferred Skills and Education

  • Experience with Commercial Parts Research Databases such as IHS Haystack Gold, Total Parts Plus and QStar.
  • Knowledge and experience with accessing and utilizing GIDEP.
  • File Repository/Knowledge management applications such as SharePoint.
  • Knowledge and experience with Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material
  • Shortages (DMSMS)/Obsolescence Management doctrine (SD-22) and commercial practices.
  • Knowledge of the DoD Contracting Process
