Envision is seeking an experienced system administrator that organizes, supervises, directs, manages, and performs software installations, upgrades, patches and overall maintenance for, application and other system software. He/she must have knowledge and experience with Department of Defense (DOD) IT administration policies, standards, and methods aimed at supporting engineering and integration efforts that are associated with the systems administration positions per AR25-1. CIO G6 appointment letter will be required to meet system administrator appointee requirements. Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, to include day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the organization IT problems. Manages organization’s software and licensing requirements. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to management and customers, as appropriate. Assists in on-site management of software support requirements and installations. Analyzes and evaluates new software requirements and prepares specifications for hardware and software maintenance and upgrades. Coordinates other required technical resources to support software upgrades and installations. Coordinates pre- and post-installation operations and maintenance support, and documentation. The system administrator will also require to have SharePoint Administrator experience to help maintain the current knowledge management environment within the current SharePoint enterprise supporting the CERDEC PRD operations.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to create folders in SharePoint 2010/2013 and handle Configuration Management of Sharepoint data
  • Provide technical recommendations as needed to optimize the organization’s use of SharePoint by keep up to date with technical advancements and/or features the can be used as the organization evolves.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in diverse team settings
  • Knowledge and compliance with Army Regulation 25-2
  • Capable to create software baselines and maintain information Assurance compliant and functional system builds (e.g. of Windows operating systems)
  • Ability to provide leadership with data for daily, weekly, and monthly reports, as required
  • Familiar with installation procedures of COTs software with a defense rich environment (e.g. installing engineering software and working with license servers)
  • Able to collaborate with other defense information assurance partners
  • Able to work closely with engineers to ensure deliverables are met and executed in timely manner
  • Capable of addressing a security incident (e.g. after action report, etc)
  • Familiar with VMWare virtualization technologies (specifically VMWare vCenter, Server, as well as ESXi environments)
  • Experience or interest in cloud services
  • Certifications in Windows Operating systems (e.g., MCSE, MCP, MCSA, or others) desirable but not required
  • Foundation level understanding of Microsoft technologies such as Exchange, Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and Microsoft SQL databases
  • Familiarity with fundamentals of networking such as DHCP, DNS, OSPF, VLANS and Cisco products/services/technologies/LAN/WAN/Firewalls
  • Familiar in troubleshooting from a physical, TCP/IP, OSI model
  • Experience with DOD infrastructure (e.g. ARMY, NAVY), familiar with STIGs (has been through a DOD accreditation of any type and/or understands the process)
  • Update IT procedures and prepare IT-related documentation that require CIO G6 approval and/or NETCOM review for the organization.
  • Experience in tier 3 assistance to users; and perform related work as required.
  • Able to provide software support for the laptops, desktop personal computers, and printers, including the configuration of the hardware devices, and testing new software
  • Capable to interrupt system configuration event log.
  • Team Player with communication, organizational, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment capable of overcoming difficult challenges
  • Self-motivated, with keen attention to detail and excellent judgment skills
  • Capable of writing technical procedures that assist personnel on “how to” scenarios as needed.
  • Familiar with HBSS (Host Based Security System), troubleshooting and addressing installation while HBSS is working
  • Familiar with IT remedy ticket system or similar and capable of addressing ticket request.
  • Review and remediate security scan findings
  • Familiar with Risk Management frame work process (Certificate of Networthiness)
  • US Citizenship and a current Secret Clearance or having held one during the last two years. (History of higher clearance a plus)

Required Education:
 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, 5+ years’ experience in defense system administration, prefer candidates with college level or military/defense training in System Administration, Information Technology
  • Security + certification or higher
  • DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II compliant
